History
PT.Bina Eka Wahana Pusaka was incorporated in 1985, when the company bought the property in Anyer from Jublin, a Germany company. The early building were 37 bungalows of 2 bedrooms named Anyer, 3 bungalows of 3 bedrooms named Banten, restaurant, mess of employee, and facilities such as 2 tennis court, made of granite floor and swimming pools. The resort was called Sanghyang Hotel, and our main customers were 90% ex-pats and 10% local.
In the early 90s, we built 36 new bungalows with 2 bedrooms which consist of 18 units of Single Storey and 18 units of Two Storeys, named baduy and 22 Single Bedrooms, named Sanghyang Room. Thus our total units were 76 bungalows of 22 hotel rooms. In 1995, we renovated 20 bungalows of 2 bedrooms,and gave a new name, Krakatau. This renovation s were done as requestedby our big customer, PT. Polyprima, who has signed a 3 years lease with us.
Our ex-pats guest were staying continuously until May of 1998 when Jakarta had riots. All of the ex-pats, guest were called back by their embassies. Since then, we turned the resort into more commercial for domestic market, with a new name, Sanghyang Indah Resort with new logo. From mid 1997 to 2000, we gave the management to Sahid Hotels, and from mid 2000 till now, we manage it ourselves. Since then, we slowly renovate and add new facilities to the hotels as follows:
- New Pier and Multipurpose Room in2 2001
- New Sestaurant with bar and karaoke rooms, and breakwater along our property line in 2002
- New Spa Village, Souvenir Shop, ATM BCA , and renovation of children pool in 2004
- Renovated 2 Sanghyang Room called them “Sanghyang Deluxe” in 2005
With the increasing competition in the middle-low market, we felt that we need to move on to an upper market in order to avoid the unhealthy competitions. We decided to built a Natural Hotspring Spa and work together with Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa (A Subsidiary of PT Mustika Ratubuana International Tbk), our grand opening was in December of 2004. We plan to make the resort as “One Stop Health Rejuvenation Resort”. Currently, we have demolished 17 old bungalows of 2 bedrooms used to be called Anyer, and we have designed 3 Krakatau bungalows into Semi Destination Spa Bungalows.
Concept
Sanghyang Indah Spa Resort, the boutique resort is the only resort with natural Hotspring spa facility in Banten.
